#CPChatNow Recap 5-8-2019

This past week in #CPChatNow was stimulating as always as members discussed Speechless, kind deeds by friends, and the continued passage of time. This is #CPChatNow Co-Host, Devin Axtman, taking you along for the ride on this week’s recap.

First, I would like to highlight Co-Host, Zachary Fenell’s participation in the Cleveland UCP’s Race to Empower. In a cool note, he completed it with his childhood Physical Therapist.

Next, Zach asked members about a time a friend did something nice. Raisa chimed in about a friend helping her at a pub:

Next, we talked about the passage of time and how long people have spent at jobs:

i tweeted about spending 8 years at my job, zach tweeted it is his two year anniversary at the library, heather recently quit her job of 11 years to start school

Finally, members talked about the season finale of Speechless:

zach and hannah tweet about the season finale of speechless, zach said he enjoyed season 3 over 2, hannah tweeted she enjoyed the character development, but zach tweeted the development may have outgrown the show's concept
seth tweeted he got why jj lied about getting into NYU, zach said he understood the character's motives and that it inspired his graduation speech, seth tweeted he felt it is wrong

Unfortunately, Friday brought news Speechless was canceled, but I did get a like on my tweet from Minnie Driver:

minnie driver's tweet announced speechless had been canceled, i tweeted i watched the last two episodes and loved them both

This brings us to our Extend-The-Conversation Question: What is your favorite memory of Speechless?

#CPChatNow Recap- 03-15-2017

Wednesday, March 15th, 2017 saw a well-needed #CPChatNow Twitter chat. I am co-host Zachary Fenell, here to document the chat for the history books. Or, at least recap the evening discussion for our website’s archives.

The evening began on a happy note, with some familiar faces returning following MIA status.

Some familiar names returned to the March 15th, 2017 #CPChatNow chat. Unfortunately, the joyful vibes hit some turbulence. Like the above screen shot shows Jocelyn’s appearance coincided with a rough week for her. Although Jocelyn proved not the only one.

Many seemed in-midst a tough week. Hence the reason I described the chat earlier as “well-needed.” Possessing a community to confide in remains extremely beneficial.

Rachel shares battling fatigue throughout the week..Now my response asking about a difference between CP related fatigue and everyday fatigue sparked some chatter. Specifically, whether there actually exists a difference.

#CPChatNow participants discuss the relation between fatigue and cerebral palsy.Looking to expand beyond troubles to solutions, I asked how others cheer themselves up when facing hard times.

#CPChatNow co-host Zachary Fenell wants to know how participants turn their frowns upside down.Yasmin shares activities she does to feel better.Jocelyn’s response in-part segued the conversation to another topic, friendships. More precisely how to maintain strong friendships while the years progress on. So staying friends when living in different states and starting families. You know, those adult life related issues!

Zachary asks how #CPChatNow participants successfully maintain long-time friendships.#CPChatNow regular Hannah Pike identified making time as an important task. Yasmin meanwhile spoke about trust.

Yasmin believes trust is instrumental to enjoying long lasting friendships. How about we keep the dialogue going? Answer for the week’s extend-the-conversation question “When it comes to long-time friends, how have you successfully maintained those relationships?” Reply in the “Comments” section.

Also during the night I announced our March 2017 Google Hangout date.

#CPChatNow's March 2017 Google Hangout will happen Thursday, March 30th at 8pm ET.I hope you will join us Thursday, March 30th for our March 2017 Google Hangout. With no character limits, the video chat always provides an opportunity to delve into deeper conversations. Please contact interim co-host Devin Axtman or myself with any questions about joining.

Answer this week's extend-the-conversation question in the "Comments" section. When it comes to long-time friends, how have you successfully maintained those relationships?Additionally remember to answer the week’s extend-the-conversation question.

#CPChatNow Recap 05-18-2016

Every week the live cerebral palsy Twitter chat #CPChatNow comes together to discuss a wide variety of topics. Hi, your co-host Blake Henry here to give you the low-down on this week’s chat. Allow me to do so by recapping the May 18th Twitter chat.

This week we got to know the newest participant of #CPChatNow. This is what Shira Sadiky had to say about our community.

#CPChatNow Home

“What makes #CPChatNow home for you?”

The community is often known to emit rays of homeliness, education, and most importantly, that of community.

Belonging

We have grown into a great community over the past two years r the leadership of my co-host Zachary Fenell and myself expanding and connecting several people with cerebral palsy to each other.

The summer happies have set in for many, but participants are still finishing up their last few weeks of school. The end of the year always seems to drag on longer than it ever should be allowed too.

Highschool & College

The end of school talk sparked conversation about one of the many things you have to do at least once or multiple times during summer, whether you like it or not! ROADTRIP!! “Are we there yet” – Brian Levant. I can hear many of you saying “Kiss my 330 cubic inches of V8 power, sucker!” – Nick Persons, right now.
Roadtrip

One of our regulars, Hannah Pike said that she missed me and that I needed to come see her. I told her it would be great because I could ride on “Mr. Be Bo Jr,” a name for her mobility device because of my laughable memory loss. But she quickly corrected me, and told me its “Hank the Tank.” I’m excited to see you soon in your country guitar wielding BIG city.

Extend-the-conversationThe weekly extend-the-conversation question supplies the opportunity to reconnect and tell what first made #CPChatNow your home on Wednesday nights? So make sure you answer the week’s extend-the-conversation question. “What makes #CPChatNow home for you?”

Don’t forget to answer in the “Comments” section.

As always thank you for reading the recap and for your interest in #CPChatNow.
